| A rough time in dream land |

Last night in my dreams:
I ruined a friend's craft project through my overconfidence, then somehow got the thread stuck in my teeth, with a large sharp needle dangling from each end of the thread, bumping threateningly against my lips every time I moved. I had to hang my head at an odd angle with my mouth open, drooling all over the place, to avoid stabbing myself in the mouth or swallowing a needle, til I finally pulled the thread out from my teeth.
Later on, a floating sports stadium crashed into one of the school buildings I was parked by. Aside from the obvious tragic loss of life, my car was completely incinerated.
Then I was by the ocean and got bitten by a shark (3 of them jumped out of the water at me!), attacked by another sea creature that I can't recall, then had to cliff-dive into freezing, rocky, seaweed-filled waves in order to avoid being crushed by a giant Cthululike creature that was attacking the town.

I must be getting better at whistling. All that practice has paid off (though the neighbors probably hate me on a nice day when we've all got our windows open). I started whistling "Yankee Doodle" and kiddo burst into song to match me. |

Close to home, there. Neat site. Odd to think that within a half an hour of an earthquake that happened at 10:18 at night, 126 people had given reports to this website on how they experienced it. I for one didn't even know the site existed until about 10:40. Mostly I was looking for someone to confirm that was what I'd felt, that it wasn't a neighbor hanging pictures a half hour after 'quiet hours...'

Kicked off my birthday by baking chocolate-chip muffins and making real coffee. Walked Tori to school, came back, blasted the neighbors and scared the cat and myself before getting the music to an appropriate volume. Today, life gets a soundtrack, and it plays what I want it to.
My mom always did the best birthday parties while I was growing up. Really really. But what I really like about the last few years is how I've learned to make my own day. That right there is a life skill.
P.S.- the secret of the muffins is, you need someone to share them with! |

"Interview" lasted 5 minutes. Guy had a thick sheaf of applications, and he's hiring one new employee. Don't think my chances are all that great. Time to go fill out applications at Barnes and Nobles and the other two Starbucks and Olympic Coffee. |
